After-School Programs

This year we have many different activities going on after school. These activities allow the children of Tomasita to learn new skills, explore their interests, or get help with their school work. Clubs are supervised by staff, parents, and community members. All of these activities are in addition to the City of Albuquerque's after school program. There is no charge for these activities.

Computer Club

Students learn more about computers and software. They surf the internet, learn to use the digital camera, and publish newsletters.

Sports Club

Students have the opportunity to learn the value of participating in team sports. Soccer, basketball, and football are popular sports. Gymnastics is also offered.

Cooking Club

Students prepare different types of food and enjoy sampling their products. They learn to read recipes, prepare the food, sample their creation, and clean up afterwards.

After School Tutoring Program

Support is given students in all academic areas after the regular school day. Students are encouraged to complete their homework and read outside the regular classroom schedule.

Fine Arts

Students engage in activities to enrich their lives in music and art. Students study various artists, art techniques in various mediums are taught, and students explore the wide world of drama and performance.

Arts and Crafts

Students create various projects which they can take home with them. Many different subjects are explored and treasured.
